  • Stated maximum load of 120 kg

  • Blue

The Umbro exercise ball is a blue gym ball with a diameter of 65 cm and a stated maximum load of 120 kg. It is a simple tool for core exercises, bridges and hamstring curls, back stretches and balance work at home. Because the ball moves, your body has to stabilise constantly, which makes familiar exercises feel new.

Who it suits

A 65 cm ball fits many adults of average height. It is a good addition if you train at home with bodyweight and want more variety for the core and the back of the legs, or if you enjoy gentle stretching over the ball after sitting all day. The quick fit check: sitting on the inflated ball, your hips should be level with or a little above your knees. If you are just setting up your training space, see our guide to home gym equipment for beginners.

How to use it: a short ball circuit

Do two rounds, resting about a minute between them:

  • Wall squat: ball between your lower back and a wall, 12 reps
  • Glute bridge with heels on the ball: 10–12 reps
  • Hamstring curl: in the bridge position, roll the ball towards you and back, 8–10 reps
  • Forearm plank on the ball: 20–30 seconds
  • Dead bug holding the ball between hands and knees: 8 per side

Finish by lying back over the ball for a gentle chest and back stretch, feet planted wide. These exercises slot easily into our home workout plan for beginners once the basic moves feel comfortable.

Inflating and safety

No pump is listed as included, so you need one with a ball adapter. Inflate the ball to about 80 % on the first day, let the material settle overnight, then top it up to 65 cm. Train on a non-slip surface away from furniture, start balance exercises next to a wall, and keep the ball away from sharp objects, underfloor heating and direct sunlight. Stay within the stated maximum load, keeping in mind that it includes any weights you hold. If the ball shows cuts or bulges, stop using it.

Care and storage

Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap. Store it out of direct sun and away from heaters. Balls slowly lose some air over time, so check the diameter now and then and top up when the ball feels soft.

FAQ

Is a 65 cm exercise ball the right size for me?

Sit on the inflated ball with your feet flat on the floor. Your hips should be level with or slightly above your knees. If your knees end up clearly higher than your hips, a larger ball suits you better; if your feet barely reach the floor, a smaller one.

Does the ball come with a pump?

No pump is listed in the contents. Use a hand or foot pump with a ball adapter and inflate to 65 cm diameter, measured against a wall or with a tape.

Can I use the ball as an office chair?

For short periods, yes, and some people like the change. It does not replace a proper chair for a whole workday, so alternate and get up regularly.
