The 4F U035 is a grey sports headband in one size for women and men. Its job is simple: it sits across your forehead and helps stop sweat and loose hair from getting into your eyes while you run, hike or train. 4F is a Polish sportswear brand, and this band is part of its running and training accessories.

Who it suits

A headband suits anyone who sweats a lot on the forehead, wears glasses or sunglasses that slide down when damp, or has hair that falls into the face during training. It is also lighter and cooler than a cap, which many runners prefer on warm days or in the gym. If you mainly run in strong sun, a cap with a peak gives more shade; on windy, cold days a thicker band or hat that covers the ears is warmer.

How to wear it

Pull the band over your head and settle it on your forehead just above the eyebrows, with the back sitting low on the head so it does not ride up. It should feel secure but not tight: if you notice pressure or a headache after a few minutes, push it slightly higher or take it off.

What to look for in a sports headband

Width matters: narrow bands are discreet and stay cool, wider bands cover more of the forehead and sometimes the ears. The U035 is one of the wider bands. Check the fabric too, as technical fabrics dry faster than cotton. A slightly textured inside helps the band stay in place.

Care and lifespan

Wash the headband after every few sessions, or after each sweaty one, following the care label. Air-dry it instead of using a dryer so the band keeps its stretch. Replace it when it has lost its elasticity and starts slipping.
